Jackie Chan receives Vietnam’s medal for peace and friendship
VietNamNet Bridge – Highlighting the Chinese kung-fu movie star’s contribution as Ambassador for Operation Smile Inc, the Vietnam Ethnic Organisation for Peace and Friendship on November 4 presented its medal to Jackie Chan.
Chan is the first foreign star to win the medal. The organisation also presented medals and certificates of merit to members of the Operation Smile for their efforts in helping disabled children in Vietnam.
Attending a fundraising event last night with Jackie Chan were Vietnamese pop stars Dam Vinh Hung, My Tam and actress Ly Nha Ky.
On November 5, Jackie Chan and Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy will visit disabled children who are awaiting surgery at the Vietnam-Cuba Hospital in Hanoi.
