Vietnam wins 7 medals at the international photo contest
According to the organizing board, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the contest attracted 8,545 photos of 1,275 photographers from 44 countries and territories. Vietnam sent 983 photographers with 6,403 photos, accounting for 75 percent of the total photos. It won 1 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronzes and 6 certificates of merit at the contest.
The contest under the sponsorship of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) provides a good chance for Vietnamese and foreign photographers to compete. The organising board chose 342 works of 227 photographers from 27 countries and territories to exhibit, including 32 photographers from 15 countries and territories wining prizes. The exhibition will be held at the Vietnam Art and Culture Centre in Hanoi from November 27 to December 5, 2009.
