Vietnam hosts ASEAN Day in South Africa
The ceremony was attended by representatives from embassies, trade offices and media agencies of ASEAN member countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung said that the event, which included cultural exchanges and sports games, aimed to strengthen solidarity and friendship between ASEAN countries. He expressed his belief that the friendship and traditional cooperation between these countries will develop further in the future.
Mr Hung presented a cup and medals to the best team and players competing in the first football tournament for ASEAN representative agencies in South Africa.
The Vietnamese embassy also introduced Vietnam’s distinctive cultural identities and traditional dishes to the delegates.
